Community Challenge - August 2024
We are incredibly grateful to the dedicated staff from Tai Tarin and their contractor, Joyner, for their generous contribution of time and materials. Thanks to their hard work, our sports hall has been revitalised with freshly cleaned and painted walls.
We are absolutely thrilled with the results!
We are incredibly thankful to Lottery for All for their generous grant. Thanks to their support, we have been able to continue the transformation of our mezzanine. This vibrant space is now regularly enjoyed by youngsters of all ages.

In 2024, BBGC proudly supported the CARTEN100 bike ride for the 8th year. Participants enjoyed a warm, dry day with a gentle tailwind. The adventure began at Cardiff City Hall and concluded in the charming Tudor Square in Tenby
A highlight of the day was the pit stop at BBGC, where our loyal volunteers served bacon rolls and refreshments, re-energizing participants.
Beyond the ride, CARTEN100 continued its tradition of giving back, with Noah’s Ark as the main charity beneficiary, LATCH, Faith in Families, City Hospice, and several smaller charities, including BBGC, also received donations from the CARTEN100 Spokes Foundation. The event was a true success, benefiting both cyclists and communities alike.
We are grateful to the Pobl Trust for their grant, which has helped us furnish our community space.

In 2023, BBGC proudly supported the CARTEN100 bike ride. A classic CARTEN100 ride, a gentle breeze, sunny and dry. 1850 riders making their way to Tenby via the usual stops in Baglan, Burry Port and Tavernspite, finishing up in Tenby Harbour.
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity was the main charity for 2023, but via the Spokes Foundation also raised funds for Pembrokeshire Care, Share and give, Multiple Sclerosis Cymru and Kids Cancer Charity.

In 2022 CARTEN100 was able to have a normal year after Storm Hannah in 2019 and the 3 cancellations due to COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021. 1900 riders took part on a lovely calm day and from Cardiff the riders were able to cycle all the way to the finish in Tenby town centre and then go down to the harbour to the Finish Pavilion.
LATCH Wales Children’s Cancer Charity was the main charity for 2022, CARTEN100 also started their own fundraising scheme for smaller local charities and organisations, SPOKES FOUNDATION.

CARTEN100 2020 was cancelled on two occasions due to COVID-19 restrictions followed by a cancellation in May 2021. The ride finally happened with a rolling start and a new finish site at Tenby AFC, stopping off a Baglan Boys and Girls club along the way for refreshments. Under the climate of COVID-19 entries were capped at 1500.
